ABOUT ASE TRUMPET

Why I decided to make a trumpet

Bryce Elphingstone is a brass player in the Stratford High School band and has been playing for 8 years. He first decided to make a trumpet when he realized that he didn't have one and it would be a good experience to build a trumpet and have it fit his needs. He plans to purchase sheet brass, brass tubing, and nickel-silver rods and then shape and assemble them into the final product. Bryce is qualified to do this because of his deep understanding of brass instruments and his commitment to making an instrument with a good sound.

THE MAN BEHIND IT ALL

Bryce Elphingstone, Volunteer Trombonist and Low Brass Section Leader

Bryce Elphingstone is currently 17 and attends Stratford High School. He loves band and is extremely involved in it- that's why he wanted to make a trumpet.  Although Bryce usually plays trombone/baritone, he decided to make a trumpet simply because he does not own one.

**WORKING ON A BETTER PHOTO, PROBABLY IN SOMETHING FANCIER**

WHAT I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH

I want to cast and assemble a fully functioning trumpet with a good sound, preferably before marching season starts. I want the valves to be smooth and I want the tuning to be correct.
